Marek Štys has worked for People in Need in various positions since 1999. From 2007 to 2011 he was the Director of the Relief and Development Department of the organisation, supervising HQ staff and permanent missions, and managing emergency response programmes. His field experience includes Afghanistan, Iraq, Albania and Ethiopia. Since 2012 he is head of emergency programs. Marek Štys received his higher education at the Charles University in Prague in the Faculties of Philosophy and Natural History. Marek was co-opted to the VOICE Board in October 2012, elected in 2013 and is now on his second term.
